The Gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ and what he has done for each of us through his death on the cross, his burial, and the fact that three days later he rose from the dead. In order to understand why this happened, we need more information.
God's nature - holy and just
Many people don't understand God's nature. They think that God is love and therefore he is too loving to condemn anyone to hell. But God's nature is holy. Habakkuk 1:13 says this about God, "Your eyes are too pure to approve evil, and You cannot look on wickedness with favor." God is not only holy, but he is just. He must punish sin.

Man's problem - sinful and rebellious
The problem we have in knowing a holy and just God is that we are sinful and rebellious. This is proven when we look at God's law - the 10 commandments. Someone who keeps these would always love God more than anything else, would worship God each week faithfully, would not use God's name as a curse word, would honor and obey their parents always, would not steal (even a little thing), would not have told even a little white lie, would not have had lust in his heart, or desired anything that belonged to someone else. The truth is . . . We aren't like that. We have sinned and fallen short of God's glory (Rom. 3:23) and the result of that sin is being separated from God (Isaiah 59:2). God has to bring justice to us for breaking His law.

God's mercy - Jesus Christ
God loved us so much that he sent Jesus to die for our sin and pay our penalty before God. The Bible tells us, "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8) Jesus died to pay our penalty before God. Jesus satisfied God's holiness and justice. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. "For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him." (John 3:16-17)

God's Offer - Saved from His Judgment and Wrath
God's offer to each of us is that he will save us from his judgment and give us eternal life if we will receive the gift of forgiveness through Jesus Christ. The Bible Says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. "(Romans 6:23) We can't work for our salvation by being good or going to church, we have to receive it as a gift.
How to Receive God's Gift
The way we receive God's gift of salvation is by repentance and faith. The Bible says, " . . . solemnly testifying of repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ." (Acts 20:21) Repentance is a change of mind toward God." We change our mind about sin and rebellion against God and turn from it. Second is faith in Jesus Christ. That is simply believing that what Jesus did on the cross pays for your sin and makes you right with God. Such faith also means commitment - we are committed to living as God desires and submitting ourselves to him.
We urge you to seriously consider what the story says. God has provided a wonderful way for us to know him, be forgiven of sin, and receive eternal life.
